The Bartell Process is simple and easy to use. Of course, a lot depends upon a person’s Suggestibility Type which simply means the percentage of how someone’s brain learns new information through their left brain compared to their right brain. Don’t worry everything will be explained in detail.
4 Simple Steps
Knowledge
You must have a basic understanding of how your behavior/habits were developed before you can start making changes.
Facts:
• 90% of all your behavior/habits are developed by the age of 5 to 8.
• You are responsible for all of your habits, good or bad.
• Confidence, success, depression, anxiety, and fear are also habits.
Birth:
We’re Born with a Primitive Mind, the “Subconscious Mind”.
No logic or reasoning capabilities. The only thing going on is the Sympathetic Nervous System that works without conscious direction; it regulates important bodily functions such as heart rate, blood pressure, body temperature, pupil dilation and digestion, etc.
And if anything makes us feel threatened or very uncomfortable, it releases hormones that prepare us for fight or flight. With infants, it’s basically crying and screaming.
First Few Years:
We’re like sponges with feet soaking up everything around us, the good, the bad, everything. And that’s because we haven’t yet developed a Conscious Mind that will contain the environmental filters of logic and reasoning. So everything goes right through to the subconscious mind.
With that said, you have a great excuse for having bad habits or behavior. It’s not your fault; it was everybody around you that made you the way you are. And sticking with that bull shit will get you nowhere.
So you tell people, “Oh no, it was My Sponge Brain that soaked up all the bad stuff my parents and others dumped on me that led to the problems I have today”.
But just taking responsibility for your good behavior/habits and ignoring responsibility for your bad behavior/habits isn’t going to get you anywhere. By taking responsibility, you’ll be starting at the root cause which will allow you to do something about improving the good and removing the bad. After all, it was YOUR Sponge Brain.
After 5-8 Years:
By now you have started to develop and strengthen a Conscious Mind that allows you to navigate your environment by using Logic and Reasoning. Fire burns; follow the rules and you won’t get punished.
Suggestibility Type:
During this time you’re also developing your Learning Type. This happens as a result of being influenced by your parents, siblings, relatives, friends, and the news. At this time of your development, it includes pretty much any information you come in contact with through your five senses, such as:
• What you prefer or not prefer.
• How you learn to be suggestible to some things but not other things.
• What you like to wear, eat, games to play, movies to watch, music to listen to.
• The kind of people you’re attracted to or not attracted to.
• And eventually the kind of career or job you would like to have.
The color blue is your favorite, maybe because it was your mother’s favorite or as a little kid you liked another kid in class who wore blue clothes a lot. Or it was the color of the blanket in your crib that kept you warm. Your favorite food is your favorite because it was the favorite of your lovable aunt’s.
Very Important:
1 – Understanding your Suggestibility Type is extremely important because from that knowledge you will be able to develop a formula of words, phrases or imagery that will allow you to make changes to your behavior.
2 – My Suggestibility Type Quiz shows you exactly what kind of Suggestibility Type you possess.
3 – The terms “Suggestibility Type” and “Learning Behavior” can mean the same thing.
Bad Habits/Behavior
Cause-and-Effect
Something interesting about bad habits. Whenever your Conscious Mind, the ‘Logical and Reasonable’ part of your brain, becomes overloaded by something that is uncomfortable to you, your subconscious takes over and tries to save and protect you.
Example:
If you lack confidence, then when you’re put in a position of needing to be confident, with what you need to do, your subconscious will try to protect you by causing you to avoid the situation. That way you don’t have to face possible failure or embarrassment or some other negative emotion based upon what you’ve been conditioned to do in the past.
Lack of Confidence:
A CHILD is constantly told that they are stupid, funny looking, can’t play sports or are not wanted.
The ADULT has trouble getting the most out of their career or personal life because they don’t think they have what it takes. They find it difficult to express themselves. They can be withdrawn and feel alone in the world.
Overeating:
A CHILD is given sweets anytime they’re emotionally upset.
The ADULT in uncomfortable situations seeks comfort in food.
A CHILD is forced to eat all the food on their plate whether they are full or not.
The ADULT is not able to stop eating when they are full.
Failure:
A CHILD is told they’re a loser and didn’t have what it takes to be successful.
The ADULT has trouble achieving their goals.
Fear:
A CHILD is educated through intimidation and/or fear. Or the child witnesses or experiences something scary.
The ADULT’S subconscious mind brings up feelings of fear in order to stop them from doing something that might again be scary.
But then one morning YOU wake up and decide that you’re not going to live another day feeling bad. You believe, for whatever reason, that you have a right to feel good about yourself, and you’re going to make a change.
What will you do? You can sit with a therapist, life coach, or a group of people with the same problem and talk about all the bad things that happened to you as a child.
OR you can say to yourself “I was a sponge with feet and didn’t know better at the time. I didn’t have the strength and experience to fight back against all the negativity. I didn’t have the ability to use logic and reasoning to know what was happening to me. I’m ready to work on my mind using the same language that created the problems in the first place.”
Your Suggestibility Type is the Key to Your Success.
I have proved time and again in my lectures in front of different groups that you can pretty much make up any fantasy story about something that can help them with their problems and about 3% will be positively affected by it.
Example:
During my lecture, I would present a “New Wonder of the World”. A special hormone in the body that helps anyone feel better instantly.
I would tell the audience that after years of research, a panel of scientists found a nerve in the back of the left ear, and by tapping that nerve gently 10 times, a special hormone would be released from the pituitary gland that would make anyone feel better instantly.
Then, I will have everybody in the audience try it. No matter how ridiculous my presentation of this new wonder was, I would get at least 3% of the audience saying they felt better after tapping behind their left ear.
Why? Because you will always find some people with a Suggestibility Type that matches your presentation. That’s just the way it is. But unfortunately, even though they were affected in a good way, the results are short-lived.
Your Suggestibility Type is Unique
Requiring You to Use a Unique Process for Change.
Discovery
Your “Suggestibility Type” is the number one reason you are special.
Facts:
• Identical Twins do not think exactly alike.
• A 4-minute quiz could increase your success rate by 90%.
• You can’t fail the Learning Type Quiz. You can only learn from it.
Just One Concept:
I hope you leave this website with the understanding that all people do not learn the same way and no one process will teach everyone how to change their habits without gearing the teaching of the new habit to the individual’s Suggestibility Type.
Learning Types:
Remember, one type is not better than the other! Some gravitate toward becoming:
writers, lawyers, critics, scientists, machinists, and bookkeepers … while others become
policymakers, artists, poets, musicians, designers, and architects.
The Suggestibility Type Quiz:
The quiz works because it’s based upon decades of researching human behavior and has been taken by over 1 million people all over the world.
Can you really truly believe everyone learned everything
they know the exact same way? Really?
For our purpose, the brain is divided into the left and right hemispheres. People who are more left-brain oriented have a different Suggestibility Type than right-brain individuals. Now don’t misunderstand, no one is all right or left-brain oriented. You are some of both. But knowing how much of each allows us to set up a program that is tailored to the way you learn.
4-Minute Quiz:
The Suggestibility Type Quiz is made up of simple yes or no questions. From the results, you will be given the information and audio recordings you need for achieving your goals.
Modify
Changing your habits by using a program set to your specific Suggestibility Type not only makes sense, it makes progress faster and more effective.
Facts: Some believe —
• It takes years to create a change in habits. No.
• It’s very hard to change a habit. No.
• It should cost a lot of money to create change. No.
The Bartell Process:
As you read above the process is made up of 4 Parts. If you’ve read Parts 1&2 and taken the Suggestibility Type Quiz, you now need to work with the information.
After taking the Suggestibility Type Quiz, you were taken to a page that showed you your Left-Right Brain Suggestibility Percentages. On that same page, you were given links directly to recordings that would help you achieve success in accomplishing your goals by first reducing stress in your personal situations.
Stress has been found to be the number one cause of people
not being able to accomplish their goals in life.
From then on you will have access to information that will build on the basic information you have already learned. This new information will also include FREE videos made by me, J Bartell.
The Inner-Mind Recordings:
There are 6 recordings in all. The first recording is to be listened to consciously, eyes open, anywhere you desire. It is simply information that will help you consciously fight off stressful situations.
There are five more recordings that will be used to reinforce positive suggestions tailored to your Learning Type for re-training your subconscious/inner mind.
The first four recordings will work on a specific area of reducing stress, with the fifth focusing on the four areas, all in one recording. Each recording is approximately 12 minutes long.
You should listen to the five recordings five days in a row and then take two days off. Most people listen Monday through Friday and take the weekend off.
More Inner-Mind Recordings to come.
I’m in the process of making new recordings of some of our previous titles that dealt with the following.
Academic Performance
Artistic Performance
Business Success
Sports Performance
Motivation
Keeping your motivation strong and stimulated is the cornerstone for achieving success in changing your habits.
Facts:
• Being motivated is a habit.
• A good game plan helps with your motivation.
• Feeling good mentally and physically helps maintain your motivation.
Motivation is a Habit:
Confidence, self-image, and memory are all habits, whether good or bad. Motivation is also a habit because it’s something that is learned.
Many THINK the following represents motivation. “It is the inner power that pushes you toward taking action and toward achievement. Motivation is powered by desire and ambition, and therefore, if they are absent, motivation is absent too.” NOT EXACTLY!
Motivation REALLY is forged by the … Physical and emotional feelings that you will experience after achieving your goal in the future.
I’ll help you take those feelings from future accomplishments so you can feel them NOW. Because those physical and emotional feelings trigger “endorphins” which are chemicals produced in the brain that make you feel pleasure. And wanting more of those feelings of pleasure often gives you the motivation to continue your daily pursuit of achieving your goals.
So you’re really taking those feelings from the future and putting them inside you now by using the Left-Right Brain Suggestibility Process. With that, you’ll have the motivation to keep doing what is necessary to accomplish your goals.
Your Game Plan:
No matter what your goal is, you need a game plan to get there. You will need to list your goals and how you expect to reach them. Sometimes all you need is a simple roadmap to achieve success in changing your habits. I’ll help you by taking you step-by-step in laying out exactly what you need to do and why. Your game plan doesn’t have to be complicated to be effective.
